Calibration Views enable HR admins and Calibrators to create custom views to support the calibration process within a performance cycle.
These views help reviewers:
Track calibration progress
Identify flagged employees
Review calibration-related data in a structured way
Navigate to Surveys & Performance > Calibration to create a new calibration view via the blue button. These views can be created by Systems Admins and HR Admins.
After selecting ‘Create new calibration view’, the calibration view modal will appear (as below). Here you can define the basic configuration, scope, and participants of a calibration view. It establishes who manages the calibration, who calibrates, and who is being calibrated, as well as the lifecycle status of the view.
Field | Purpose and use |
View name (required) | Identifies the calibration view; Used in the calibration views list and navigation |
Due date (required) | Indicates when facilitators should wrap up calibration decisions or publish the outcome |
Purpose and scope (optional) | Used to describe roles, levels, focus areas or topics included in the calibration; serves as contextual guidance for all participants involved in the view |
Status | Draft (default) The calibration view is still being configured; visible to Owners and Administrators; no calibration or comments expected at this stage Live – collecting responses The view is active and visible to Owners, Administrators and Reviewers; calibration can take place, users can add calibration comments and calibrate ratings Complete The view is closed but remains accessible for permitted users. Calibration and comments are disabled and no further changes can be made. |
Owner | Automatically assigned as the creator of the calibration view. This role cannot be edited or reassigned and acts as the primary manager of the calibration view. |
Administrators (optional) | Users assigned as Administrators (view-level) can participate in calibration and manage the view according to their role permissions |
Reviewers (required) | Users who are responsible for participating in the calibration process - typically managers. They can add calibration comments. |
Reviewees (if empty, will default to Everyone) | The people who are being calibrated, represented as rows in the calibration view table. These people do not actively participate in calibration actions. |
Column configuration
Once the Calibration View is created, you can determine which columns will be visible by updating the check boxes. The selected columns define what is displayed in the calibration table and visibility applies to: Owners, Administrators and Reviewers. The Column configuration is view-specific.
HR Admins also have the ability to set column visibility for all views associated with the campaign (see below).
Visibility rules
The Owner of the calibration view can see the Reviewees’ field in the edit modal and edit the list of Reviewees
All other users who can access Edit view cannot see the Reviewees field in the edit modal and cannot modify the list of reviewees.
Participant roles defined in the calibration view
Calibration Views define **participant roles at the calibration view level**. These roles control who manages the view, who calibrates, and who is being calibrated.
Role | Scope and Permissions |
Owner |
|
Administrator |
|
Reviewer |
|
Reviewee |
|
Self-exclusion rule
To avoid conflicts of interest and ensure unbiased calibration, self-visibility is restricted across Calibration Views. In all cases where a user accesses Calibration View, if that user is also included in the list of reviewees, their own row is hidden from the calibration table.
Context & visibility indicators
Calibration Views may display contextual banners to explain when the data shown is partial due to applied filters. When an admin filter is applied, a yellow banner is displayed at the top of the calibration view.
