Issue & Context
When an entry—such as an employment title or record—is deleted directly within your HRIS, the change is not reflected in Confirm. You may notice that deleted records remain visible on the Confirm platform.
Why This Happens
The Merge.dev integration is designed to track additions and updates to existing data (for example, updating a title from "Engineer" to "Senior Engineer" or adding a newly hired employee). However, when a record is deleted in the HRIS, Merge.dev does not receive a deletion signal. Instead, the absence of data is interpreted as an unchanged record, preventing Confirm from processing the deletion.
Best Practices & Recommended Solution
To ensure all changes synchronize accurately between your HRIS, Merge.dev, and Confirm, follow these recommendations:
Update existing records: Modify the relevant fields in the existing record rather than deleting it.
Use effective dates: Create a new entry with updated effective dates when adjusting job titles or statuses.
Avoid direct deletions: Do not permanently delete records or attributes in your HRIS if you need the change reflected in Confirm.
